Project description

What are the implications of your research proposal in the microbiome field for human health?

Our research will help to uncover potential causal links between gastrointestinal dysfunction, microbiota alterations and compromised neurodevelopmental trajectories. Eventually, this could inform emerging microbiome-based interventions for the early prevention and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia, major depression and autism spectrum disorder.
